First: this is a dive bar, and you'll want to be patient with the service especially when they're packed (eg go stand up and get your own menus if you've been waiting a few minutes, no one here will mind). Food: Steak tips here are awesome (though I salt mine at the table) and you should order them - ask for medium rare - you'll get served super juicy, smoky meat kabobs that were cooked over charcoal. The tips also come with a chunk of bread with a nice crust and some cherry peppers to spice up the kabobs. I also like to dip some of my steak tip bites into Parmesan. There were two of us and we each got an order of steak tips PLUS a pizza (cheese, garlic, and then pepperoni on half) -- the pizza crust was nice - parts were crisp and other parts were super dense and chewy (lots and lots of gluten) with some nice char/burn. Cheese could have been a bit more stretchy/stringy for me but it all hit the spot! 3 seating areas to choose from: Bar or Restaurant - and then on the restaurant side again pick from more dimly lit booths adjacent to the bar or a brightly lit room with tables and chairs.

It had been 20 years since I ate at the Boston location on Chelsea street, Nothing has changed, especially to pizza. 100% delicious, cook perfectly and it won't be another 20 years before I go back. When you go to Boston and are looking for true Boston pizza, this is the place.

Had an amazing pizza there on Sunday night evening. My boyfriend lives near Coney Island in New York and says Santarpio's is better than anything served in New York City. We got pepperoni and sausage. Yum

Well we had not been here for years because it is a bit far to travel but we were going to Boston for an event and planned to have lunch here. It is just a hole in the wall but with some of the best food you'll eat! A friend met us and everything we all ordered was just yummy. Jamie out server was just a doll and definitely a seasoned server. It's just a funky restaurant with a very limited menu but what they do have is just unbelievable. The pizza doesn't look so appealing but it was out of this world!! If you have never been you need to go an experience it once.. I guarantee you'll find yourself going back again and again.

Food and atmosphere, including the people sitting around us that engaged with us in conversation even though our accents were clearly not New England based, made this a great spot for lunch. So much so we stopped in there again before we flew back home. Looking forward to eating there again the next time we are in Boston.

Best pizza - You won't regret it! I Eat it everytime I visit Boston. The sauce is delicious, the Italian sausage is incredible. Love the atmosphere as well.

Heard different opinions about this place, some say it's overrated and some said it was great. Verdict to me was that their pizza was just as good as some of the best pizzas in NYC. Grilled steak tips and chicken were phenomenal not to mention their pepper was super tasty (spicy and sweet). It was great celebrating Sgt. Major (USMC) retirement dinner here. I'd definitely return here.

Good, classic bar pizza. Got the classic crunchy crust, which makes the ends a bit tough to eat. Cheese and sauce are hot and oily, but delicious. Cheap too. Not going to change your life but very solid neighborhood pizza place.

Santarpio's is an institution for a reason. I used to go all the time back when I lived in Eastie and it's always a treat to get to go back. You can't go wrong with the Chicken, Broccoli, Garlic white pizza (or any of their other pizzas).
